Welcome back. We’re talking about sole purpose and how to find your sole purpose in life. Karen is here. We’re launching her YouTube channel today. And before we jump into the technical side of it or the episodes of the topics, it’s really important to hone in on what your purpose is so that we can have direction so we can accomplish goals. And as you watch me take Karen through this process. I’m excited for for the benefit will have to you and knowing how to figure out your purpose so you can get a lot more results on YouTube as well. When I talk about your life purpose or your sole purpose, I want to distinguish that there’s a difference between your purpose and like the vehicle that you use to accomplish that purpose. Do you know what I mean there? -Yes. So you find your purpose and then what vehicle we going to use to fulfill that. -So like YouTube could be the vehicle or websites or a marketing strategy or even the niche that I’m focusing on. Might just be a vehicle. You know, a lot of people see me as a YouTube expert but YouTube could easily disappear. And if YouTube was my purpose, YouTube then disappears it’s like… “Okay, my purpose is disappeared.” No. So, it’s really… Okay, why did God put me on this earth? What are the gifts that I’ve been given and how can I use those gifts? What is this goal? What is this outcome that I want to create? And right now for me and I can I can share more about my purpose as well. You know and you have gifts what is that end goal and then is YouTube a vehicle that we can use to help you accomplish that goal? And what other vehicles. So, we’ve got a whole list here of different things that you’re interested in from self-care, beauty and skin nutrition. You know, spirit and soul for meditation and things nature. We’ve got organization. You’re interested in that? Relationships, the impact you leave. Mother-daughter dynamics. So, we’ve got a whole range of things. Aside from that when I first met you, I learned about your acting side. You know the acting roles that you are interested in whatnot. So, there’s a whole different side of your professional career. How does any of this tie into like what you feel you’re meant to do. Have you had any thoughts about that? -I have, yeah. I’ve always been very interested in connecting the dots and why we’re interested in different things at a different time in our lives. And what do they mean. You know, why did God or the universe of the Creator have to do, right? So, we’re interested in passion about different subjects. And I’m very interested in finding my purpose and making it touching people with like he said different instruments. But I’m having a hard time connecting both. So, in my in my head, I’m like, “Okay, maybe acting was for… You know, they that part of my life.” Now, I’m in a different stage of my life… Maybe it’s as wellness. What if I connect all that and that’s where I struggle a little bit? -Do you see acting as something in the past is that something you’re not as interested in pursuing? -I see it as it’s part of me and now I wouldn’t be able to use it with this new see. -Okay. So, it kind of created a foundation. -Yeah. I would have never been able to be in front of a camera if it wasn’t for acting. I was a very shy child. You know, that was that or get understanding people better. Understanding how people’s brain work and an emotion. That’s how I got interested in relationships and all this other subjects. -So, with the education that you’ve done on wellness or nutrition and whatnot, what type of work have you done. Like how have you been implementing that in helping others? -So, I’ve been doing that in a smaller scale. So, I’ve been doing that with a coaching friends for a role. You know, giving advice of how to go about specific situations in life because I’ve done it through an acting exercise and he brought something in me. And as far as the wellness, I’ve done that with friends coaching one-on-one as well or my family my friends and kind of like seeing how it inspires other people. And I want to take you to a bigger, bigger scale. -So, in what you’ve done so far. What has been the most fulfilling part of it? -The most fulfilling part. Getting messages or phone calls or people coming up to me saying how I inspire them to make changes in the way they do. I recently got a text message from a friend saying that his blood work came back completely different from what he had and that’s very fulfilling like knowing that you gave some of your knowledge to other people to even fix her… You know fix their health and and be being more proactive about it. -I feel that too. I love I love the results. I mean I’ve had different website services. I’ve had different video production services. And I create a system and it starts working. Sometimes what’s missing is like, “Well, yeah. You’ve got a beautiful website but it’s not getting you results.” And I really love when I when I hear, “Yeah, that speaker video you made for me Nate, it got me so speaking engagements.” You know I love the feedback of getting results and so that’s what’s kind of driven me to hone in on what I’m doing here on YouTube, is getting results. So, I just… I resonate with what you say there a lot. Getting the feedback of people. “Yeah, yeah. My work came back. I’m healthier.” So, do you feel do you feel passionate about just improving other people’s health? Helping them step into better health? -Yes, definitely. -I can do one in one like group… I’d like to do it in a way that I… Kind of like do it… And obviously they ask for help they need to… -So, you mentioned… You mentioned you don’t like one-on-one. Why is that? -I don’t know. I like… Like you say, I like results and I like results big results. If I can impact 10 people at one time, instead of one person for a few months, I like the idea of that better. -So, right now you’ve just been helping individuals. -Individuals, yeah. But you’d like to scale it up. So you’re finding fulfillment in the one but you’re wanting to make a bigger impact? -Right. Because I do find myself getting bored. You know, I love to inspire then I walk away in… -Okay. So what what you mentioned there you found yourself getting bored is… I found that to be really key. Just to share it comparison. So, when I first was discovering my purpose, I offered my website service to all small businesses. From restaurant owners ,to carpenters and landscapers to dentists and attorneys. Just everyone and I found myself getting bored with a lot of their projects. They call me on the phone and they’d be excited about their website. But I just be like looking at the I don’t wear watch. But looking at the clock and like 5 minutes goes by and it seems like an hour. But then there were some clients that I’d be on the phone for an hour and I just like, “Wow, time is flying.” And so that’s something you’re going to maybe you’ve noticed it maybe you haven’t yet. But for me is really helpful to just acknowledge why some people… I’m bored to death to talk to other people. I just… I get fired up when I’m talking to them. The difference was influencers. People who wanted to be in front of the camera. People who wanted to share their expertise and teach and influence. Make an impact in the world versus just focusing on the electrical wiring or cleaning somebody’s teeth. And once I made that shift and realize you know, I’m meant to serve influencers. That was key for me and in honing in on my purpose. You mentioned you’re getting bored in some ways are there some areas where you’re just totally lit up and totally joyful. -I think it’s very similar to your. It’s like when they work with people that are very aligned to who I am as well. So, we can relate to a lot more and like finding those people. -Is that like people have a similar background? -I mean you mentioned Columbia, is it cultural similarities or… -Not necessarily. I mean that too. But also, I do see that I’m impact like younger girls also. Where they’re like, “Oh, I you know, like I when they start doing what she’s doing. Or someone that’s looking for that… the same search. And they kind of like see me I was like, “Okay, she’s done it already or she’s gone through this stuff already. Let me see what she has to say about this.” So, maybe like a younger version of me. -Okay, so people who can see you as a mentor or a role model, you love working with them and get fulfillment and helping them kind of take the path that you’ve been on.-I have you had clients outside of that that have come to you for nutrition help or wellness health and but you just haven’t been as fulfilled working with those people. -No, it’s been the opposite it’s been like older people that need that never take care of themselves and now are. Kind of making the roster to… -So, you’ve been able to help them but it’s just not as fulfilling? -Right. -Okay. -Thank you for asking. It’s making sense to me now now that I’m answering this. -Okay. Well, yeah. That’s sometimes… It’s not that I know what your purpose is by any means. But just by asking the questions, your purpose might be to help people catch the vision and do these things a little bit earlier so they don’t end up like the older people that are trying to fix the problems. -Right. -It’s also because they’re so inspired they have… They have the passion to go for it other versus the other group of people that are kind of like doing it because we have to you or they’re not as motivated to do it. It’s easier to just give up anything they’re working on. -Yeah, so it’s either that or a Hispanic market or both. -Do you find that in the Hispanic market, there are a lot of younger women that have those aspirations? -Yes, yes, yes. -Because I guess language is there’s something to talk about then. There’s a lot of the Hispanic community that you would relate to in the United States speaking English. I’ve never been to Colombia. A lot of people in Colombia that don’t speak English and so you’d want to make a spanish-speaking YouTube channel. Have you thought about that? -Yeah. I did. I have. And I would love that too because every time I go visit friends and family and they leave, they always come and like you inspire me, fix my kitchen again. They fix the way I eat. Or drink that smoothie in the morning. You drink that green juice. So,z when I hear that, I’m like there’s a need for that also there’s a space where I can it’s not common. And thing that I was very lucky to come to the U.S. at a very young age and kind of have both lenses. And see the world in 2 different ways. I feel like I need to use that to help my people as well. Like the little boy is in my head. But I’ve always been… You know, I’ve always were in the U.S. or I’ve been able to travel to different countries. So, I…-Something that I’ve learned… And also I’m thinking of a conversation that I had with a friend of mine who’s actually from Turkey. Now as an American citizen. She’s fulfilling her purpose here and serving a lot of people in the United States and she’s also at least annually going back to Turkey. She loves the impact she’s making there but her business is not profitable with the work she does in Turkey. And it’s extremely profitable here in the United States. So she’s kind of found a good balance. She’s like you know, I am NOT able. I can’t have the impact in Turkey that I would want just because I can’t be financially successful there. But I know I can make an impact here and she’s teaching at UCLA as well as got her you know her own coaching business. And so she’s found a good balance of I love my people in Turkey and I’m able to help them but that’s more of a charity that I’m doing there whereas here this is this is a business and this is a real economic impact. I don’t know if that’s if that relates at all. That’ll be something that you’ll want to explore and maybe there is a great way because it’s not about the money. But money is an important tool. It’s a very important tool. And so let’s say you you feel so Purpose Driven and just passionate and loving towards colombians and in that country or the people. And maybe there is a way of you know, leveraging that so that it can be financially sustainable. But the opportunity here in America is so great. Any any thoughts relates to that? -Exactly like that and one of the videos that I want to make is how to make this fancy meals on the budget. And I thought of that because I started helping my friends like me. You know, like, “Oh, what are you doing there and how can I… You know how can I do that with my budget?” So, I can definitely see that happening also. Yeah. But I think there’s a way of doing it on a budget too. And maybe do they more… More as a like love or charity work versus like making out of it. -Okay. So as we wrap up this video, I want to just put you on the spot and and just see can you define your purpose in words? Yeah, let me… Let me share with you… Because in a 15- minute episode, I don’t think it’s possible for you to discover your purpose. But the questions that we’re having here hopefully are helpful. It took me 18 months. I went to an event. And I heard a guy named Garrett Gunderson talk about sole purpose. You know, internally I’m like, “You know what? I do have a purpose. I don’t know what it is but I’ve got to figure it out.” And I read books. I went to different events and then finally after 18 months, actually had another event that I attended. There was this meditation exercise that we went through and I just everything kind of made sense. I made some of those discoveries about you know some class I was bored working with and other clients I enjoyed. And so I was kind of finding my way then after 18 months, I was actually able to put it into words. I can share what my purpose is. It’s kind of a 2 levels. So, at the surface level, I… My purpose is influence. I work with influencers and help them grow in their influence. And I get great fulfillment in that. I love the power of influence. As a kid, I had a lot of experiences where I didn’t feel that I had a voice. And by working and surrounding myself with influencers, I do have a voice. I found my own voice and as my clients make a bigger impact on the world, I get fulfillment because I’m helping influence the world through them. So, that’s the surface level. If I go a bit deeper, I believe that God is the master of influence. As we learn to use the power of influence in good ways, we become more like God. Because I believe that we are God’s children. I believe you’re a daughter of God. And so by me helping people like you gain influence, I’m helping you become like God. I’m helping you become a goddess. So that is my purpose and using influence to help people become like that. -Wow. I love that. -So, that’s why I do what I do. And so is my purpose YouTube> No. YouTube is a vehicle, entrepreneurship is I’m passionate about. I love entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is just the vehicle to help me accomplish that goal. My challenge to you… I’ll give you another a chance to see if you can put into words now. But if you can’t do it in this moment and if you can’t do it in this moment, my challenge is to keep trying and get to a point where you can to find your purpose in words because it makes it makes everything else kind of fall into place. So, I’ll give you another go. -Yeah, if I can put it into one more word, big impact. And I want to be able to impact people or places where I go and always live a positive the impact. -I love it. Yet words are important. When I… When I came upon the word influence, it’s like, “Yeah. That’s… That’s my word.” So… Those are important to find a good job. In the next episode, we’re going to talk about how to choose a topic for your YouTube channel and for your videos. And then the episode after that, we’re going to talk about what the name of your YouTube channel will be. Prepared for that? So, make sure you’re a subscriber and we’ll see you in the next episode.
