In this quick episode, Nate will tell you what it takes to optimize your videos for SEO to get good ranking for your videos on YouTube. He’ll talk about what you need to do and what it can mean for you in the long run.
So how do you optimize your YouTube videos for SEO? That happens to be my expertise. It’s how I built my huge track record of success on YouTube. I’m going to share with you exactly what I do. First of all, I have some bad news. If you’ve already put a video on YouTube and you’re wanting to know how to optimize it to get it to rank better for better SEO, the only thing that you could do is improve the title. That’s it. Everything else is automatic. Seriously, YouTube transcribes the whole video. So they know what your video is about. You can’t put in keywords or do different things to make your video rank better. The only thing that does is the title. And if your video is already performing somewhat well does not in search but you change the title, the video will reset. So, I don’t know if you want to do that. So, what can you do? How can you do SEO for YouTube videos? Keyword research before filming. Keyword research before filming. You have expertise. Right now, all around the world, people are typing in questions that you have the answer for. They just don’t know that you exist yet. You can do keyword research to find what these questions are and make videos that answer those questions. That’s the best way to do SEO for YouTube videos. When you do keyword research the right way, your videos rank on day one on YouTube. Now, I made another video linked right up here called my tree analogy. If you watch that video, you’ll understand what the right way is to do this keyword research. So, doing keyword research first, I found as I’ve taught that to people. People are intimidated by that. It is a lot of work at first. But in the long run, it’s so much easier. It really is so much easier. YouTube does the rest of the work. So, you do keyword research. You find the question that people are asking and that’s the title of your video. Okay? YouTube then transcribes the video and they know what your video is about. They know that your video really is about that title and your video ranks on day one. Now get this: Even if it’s just a small handful of people that do that search in that month, those people are finding exactly what they’re searching for. And because they watch that video from start to finish, they have a high average view duration, the YouTube algorithm sees that and they want to send more traffic to that video. So, I do have a free gift for you. If you want to know more details about how to do keyword research, I’ve created a keyword research guide. And if you click the link below, you can get access to that for free. And also, if you watch the video this far, you must have enjoyed it. I encourage you to subscribe. YouTube actually changed how that works. So, after you hit subscribe, notice the little bell that appears right to the side. I want you to click that if you want to be notified each time I upload a new episode. So, YouTube will send you a notification. I’ll see you tomorrow.
